Default Help With New Gaming Computer Build Please?

Hello all,

I have just joined these forums today, And i was hoping someone could help me and give me advice and possibly a spec for a new computer **Gaming** tower.

I currently have speakers, keyboard, mouse and a monitor.I will need an Operating System though.

What im looking for is a really good solid build that will play games REALLY smooth and be futureproof for a year or two and can play the games that have just come out: COD4,Gears Of War,Crysis,UT3 and the games that are coming ou shortly...

Im looking to spend around £1000-£1200 on this tower.

Thanks in advance for any advice and builds given.

x)

Are you building this PC yourself or are you asking for someone to build a computer for you?

For 1200 you can get a really nice gaming machine together!

Default Help With New Gaming Computer Build Please?

Hey guys thanks for the good responses.

Firstly i think i will be building it myself.Ive never done a build before so will be first time, but believe i have the knowledge too do it.

Ill be deffinatly going for vista i think as ive heard good things about it ( and bad ofc ;p)

What im trying to achieve with this build, is a really smmoth gameplay on all/most games i play.Id love the GFX too always be on high just to give that extra umph into the game.

Thanks for any future help you can give me and advice on parts x)

I would say go for the CPU = Intel Q6600

If your running vista then you could put 4GB of RAM but im sure 2GB would be ok.

Only on XP as it can only use 2.5 RAM. But vista uses 3.5 i think so it can have 4GB of RAM.

Yeah, I think that 4GB of RAM would be good for a £1200 system. It is true that XP can only see 2.5GB.
