My PC just started randomly restarting, and then sometimes freezing. Heres the weird part, when it freezes, i cant turn it off. even if i hold down the power button or press the reset button. I have to turn off my power cord in order to restart my PC. And when it freezes my speakers make a weird constant noise. I think its my Motherboard. Because all of the symptoms are directly connected to the motherboard.

All my CPU and GPU temps are normal. I even turned off all overclock setting back to normal. and still i get these problems.

any ideas what it could be?

Have you tried testing the memory, or pulling out a stick and running on one and then switching them?

Probably a capacitor or soldier joint. Can you find the burnt spot? somtimes it will swell a little and discolor... use a magnifing glass if you got one in 2010 lol... makes it easy to see.

Well that smell is usualy a sign that something burnt... you know I just though of this have you tried kicking down your memory timing? Even running it at like maybe 1333 instead of 1600? you said you memtested the memory? Bad mem does funny funny things.
