By the way welcome to TCF.

Is it under warranty? If so can you force them to replace the unit with a new one?

If under warranty there may be a stipulation that they can replace parts with refurbished ones so this is why you may see a difference.

I am not trying to say you have nothing to be alarmed about. Just trying to see that you have all the information you need to do battle with if it comes to that. Don't let them catch you off guard.

Also what problems are you having? We may be able to get you on track.

theys said that they replaced the hard drive only ? so no need for replacment sticker?

it started by ............! re-booting , shuting down , closing programs, opening programs, being very very slow

i have done reboots and defrag etc and restores and put the disk thing in! but no joy i have not yet pluged it in yet! to see if it is still the same

Yer, as already said. Have a look at all the paperwork you have and especially the warranty's small print. Also might be an idea to phone Comets Head Office..not just the store you got it from. Head Office..deal with the top, not the Monkeys! (No disrespect to Monkeys by the way, LOL!)

Good point. Do some spyware/virus scans.

OK..have you tried an online virus and malware scan, instead of using your inbuilt software? Most major AntiVirus companies have this facility for nothing on their websites. This double checks that nothing is wrong with your virus scanner and its updates....
