Default Help! Whats Wrong with My Computer?

3 hours ago, my computer was working fine. But after my dinner, when i pressed the power button, my computer screen doesn't show a thing. The red and green light shows consistently, the cpu and fan runs, and the light of my cd-rom drive lights. The beep sound of POST is not there too.

i have told my friend about this problem, and he says it has got something to do with my hard disk. I am not very good with computers and thus, I hope that someone here can help me and see if the problem is really what my friend have said. Thanks in advance.

Default Help! Whats Wrong with My Computer?

you say the cpu fan runs..witch makes me to believe it may not be the power supply.
as you say no bios beep i would check the graphics card has not been dis lodged
but if it was am sure you get a bios beep error code.worth to check it out anyway
it wont be your harddrive..you can still get the bios starting up on your screen without an harddrive installed. from my experiance i would suspect the bios..i had this kind of problem a while back and in the end i re freshed the bios by changing a jumper/power pc up..tern back off..then replace jumper back to were it was..and that worked for me.some motherboards have different ways to do this that is my motherboard way.
a dead motherboard battery gave me this problem..

Dead PSUs can run CPU fans. A few amps on 3.3V or whatever is not hard to put out.
