How much is my rig worth.

Built it myself a while ago with some advice from a mate on parts. But I don't really know what it's worth now and I may sell it in the near future to get a laptop. If you can give me a rough idea of what it's worth I'd appreciate it! It's all in perfect working order.

MOBO - GA-965P-DS4

PSU - Enermax 525 Modu 82+
GPU - EVGA GTX 260 (216) Superclocked

DVD+-R - Emprex
Case - Akasa Zen
Fan controller - ZALMAN ZM-MFC1 Plus

DESK

Personally £400-£500 for the rig and £600-£700 for the complete bundle.

By the way I would keep the build and keep upgrading, beleive me a laptop won't even net you half the performance even for double the price. Only sell if you intend to build another rig otherwise keep it.

Thanks for this.

Virtually the only game I enjoy that's really graphically demanding is BF2.

Also - I more use the computer for music and media, and so it would be handy to have it portable.

Do you think I could get a laptop for £600 that could play BF2 well. - I know it won't match a GTX260... but above 50fps shall we say. GTX260 is massive overkill for BF2 anyway!

Let me know what you think. And possibly suggestions for a suitable laptop?

Any game really requires at least 60FPS to be deemed playable, but now you'v said that your reasoning is fair so i suppose you could get a laptop however choosing the laptop is personal to the consumer so I can't really help you there but I will have a look for you.
There are a lot of options so start researching and don't forget to ask here before you buy it.

After looking arround they are quite expensive, even for crap 8600gt's (£900+), honestly I would keep it, you will regret selling the P.C. Also it is going to be a lot harder playing FPS games using a touchpad.

Well I would carry a mouse... I don't think anyone's going to get very far on BF2 with a touchpad! lol

Well I'll keep it for now... and see if I could get a payment plan on a lappy of some description.

Cheers

PS- I thought that 60Fps was like the point that a human cannot detect any further increase in fps. - I was told that below 30fps becomes unplayable.. but that 50fps is not too bad at all, and perfectly playable.

I tried crysis on this computer... and it was fun for a while... but didn't enjoy the game play and the fps dropped too low in places (even with the GTX260!). I think it was dropping into the 30-40 fps range...

30-40? 30 FPS is the highest I get playing Crysis @ 1280x1024 2xAA Very High (CCC) with an 88800GT. If you have got Crysis why did you say BF2 was th most deamnding game?
Crysis is actually a good game bar the gameplay.

You could keep your P.C and buy a new laptop just for music and stuff for £300, obviously you would need to save up but it's christmas soon

Well I never said that BF2 was THE most graphically demanding.... I said it's the most graphically demanding game I play. There's a difference. ;-)

Crysis is actually a good game bar the gameplay - Not meaning to be rude here... but - Exactly.

BF2 is so far behind in graphics... but the game play is just so so so good! Obviously very similar to 2142, but I prefer BF2. There's never been a game like it since... and I really really hope one day a BF3 will be made.

Anyway. . . I think the advice has been helpful - I will wait and save for a laptop that I can use for music and media on the go. Just wouldn't get back enough of what i spent on it if I sold it. - But isn't that always the way eh!?

Cheers guys.
