Default How much would you pay for this PC?

Hello and thanks for reading. I have a question that I would like answered by those who know what they are talking about (that most likely means you if you have built a computer ).

I noticed on ebay that the custom build computers for sale there usually "cut corners". They give you an awesome CPU GRAPHICS CARD etc etc... Though they usually lack good airflow good PSU and even motherboard sometimes.

So the question I have is how much would you pay for a pc custom built (lets say you did not know how to build one for example and you wanted to purchase one). That does not cut corners, made with well rated parts, and has all drivers installed with no tedious tuning on you (the customers) part? Not to mention windows vista home premium 64bit and a few free games with it like a new FPS (BIOSHOCK) and another game that is of good quality.

So shout out the price point to me if you will on a pc based on these parts. Here they are!

Disk Drive: LG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner.

Case: SLI Certified Cooler Master mid tower black case. With three 120mm fans one blue lighted, with excellent airflow and roomy case. As well another extra 120mm blue lighted fan for even more airflow.

Hard Drive: x1 Western Digital caviar SE16 500gb hard drive, 16mb cache.

Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce 8800 gts 320 mb PCI Express.

Power Supply: SLI X-Finity FlexForce 600 watt blue, with dual 80mm fans.

Memory (RAM): Pqi Turbo 4gb (4x1gb) DDR2 800, with heat spreaders.

Motherboard: EVGA LGA 775 with true 16x 16x sli capabilities. Supporting FSB up to 1333 or 1066. Up to 8gb ram with memory up to 1200 or 800. 2 Pci express 16x, 2 Pci express 1x, and 2 Pci slots, with an added 1 Pci express expansion slot. GREAT overclocking with cpu that comes with this pc.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 FSB 1333, L1 cache 32KB + 32 KB, and L2 cache 4m shared.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Home Premium.

Heatsink for Cpu: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler.

So there it is, like I said if you were to buy something brand new like that custom built how much would you pay overall? This includes the two bonus games and all updates installed.

No corners cut, all items have great reviews and will make a great gaming pc easily. Motherboard has great room for expansion if you wanted to get another graphics card for SLI in the future.

All in all nice power running through it that helps the system and nice cooling with a great gaming overclocking motherboard that has high reviews for just that.

So if you will price points on how much you would pay or think someone else would pay for a custom built pc like that with everything built well and all updates/drivers intact? Thanks for your time.

Default How much would you pay for this PC?

LG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner=$40-50
Cooler Master case=$40-60
4 fans total=$30
HDD=$130=150
GPU=$300-320
Mobo=$160-180
Cpu=$200
OS (oem)=$120
HSF=$35-40

The build alone nearly comes to about $1000USD
I would probably charge about 200 for labor
So say around 1100-1200USD

EDIT: how much are you thinking of buying a build like that for?

I was thinking around $1400 usd. Giving a profit of just a tad over $200 usd. In your calculations of total price you forgot to include the 4gb of ram and power supply. Or otherwise you skipped over them purposely doing a calculation of the main parts. Just in case you did not catch that. Also a link of the case can be found here, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119137

Anyway thanks for the quick response, price opinions wanted, lower then mine or higher no matter, opinions still appreciated.

I think that 4gigs of RAM is an overkill and is not really needed, 2gigs is more than enough

Edit: oops sorry about missing them, was only out of bed lol

Have to agree with Social on the Ram,2GB is enough.
The hard drive is a bit large aswell I would put in a 250Gb max.
The E6750 is more expensive than the E6600 yet the E6600 can easily outperform it when overclocked and you have included an overclocking board so......
For me the build is a bit up and down.
Its almost very high end but then the GPU is not.I think it would be better value for money and more profitable for you if you changed those few things.
Maybe even consider overclocking it yourself.
The punters might like the idea of a 3.5Ghz C2D

Based on what was said so far do you think it would be a better idea to include a evga 8800 gts 640mb? I have found it better to lower the hard drive to 320gb from 500gb that was recommended.

So again with that system spec would a 640mb version of the GPU tie it in better or would that be overall a waste of money?

Default How much would you pay for this PC?

Revised build, I notice that 4gb while a great amount actually helps sell the pc at a higher price range for some reason or another. So I decided to keep the 4gb in my build, though I changed a few things. After looking at this revised build which of the two (my first one above or this one) seems overall better?

Disk Drive: LG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner.

Disk Drive 2: Sony 18x dvd rom

Card Reader: All in one card reader with usb 2.0.

Case: SLI Certified Cooler Master mid tower black case. With three 120mm fans one blue lighted, with excellent airflow and roomy case. As well another extra 120mm blue lighted fan for even more airflow.

Graphics Card: XfX Geforce 8800 gts with 640mb.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 FSB 1333, L1 cache 32KB + 32 KB, and L2 cache 4m shared.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista 32-Bit Home Premium.

Memory (Ram): A-Data 4gb ddr2 800 ram with heat spreaders.

Hard Drive: x1 Western Digital caviar SE16 320gb hard drive, 16mb cache.

Power Supply: Rosewill 600 watt sli ready power supply.

Cpu/Motherboard cooler: Cooler master geminn II cooler with two extra 120mm red case fans.

This is the revised build that costs around $90.00 usd more. Is the changes made worth it for the extra 90? Like better GPU, somewhat better ram, extra disk drive, card reader, and better power supply. Again thanks for any responses, feedback is such a plus.

Definately the faster 2GB set up. 4GB is not needed at the moment, so you would benefit more from having faster 2GB of RAM. Plus it will probably save you money too.

Over in England the E6750 is actually cheaper that some faster intel processors, not entirely sure why tho, over here its around £120, which is a good price for that processor. Dropping the size of the hard drive from 500GB to 320GB will save you around £15 max, so not a great deal of savings to be had from doing that. I would definately upgrade the graphics card though, to a 8800GTS 640MB if possible, if not then the 320MB version

Since I am getting responses I decided to give a LINK of all the items which took abit to customize though now I have it saved.

I would like to know not the price point you would buy it for now but whether or not you would change anything that would make it even better without adding to the price (like take out something and add something else equaling about the same price).

Here are all the parts in this new improved updated list with links to give you an idea of the parts quality. I am buying from two sites to save some money and get more rebates as you will see. Linking all the essential parts and not the disk drives which are sony.

Hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136074

Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182032

Ram which is great and the looks are splendid: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227231

Case, plenty of airflow: https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produ...tCode=10006342

x2 extra case fans: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835224004

Cpu/motherboard cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134

Cpu/Processor: http://www.newegg.com/product/Produc...82E16819115029

Motherboard: https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produ...uctCode=246710

GPU/Graphics card, I have decided on 2 for sli would you think it better to stick with just one gtx version though?: https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produ...uctCode=322837

Operating system: https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produ...uctCode=604699

There it is, is it fine tuned well or would you change some areas and add to others keeping the same price point? Thanks for any advice, and thanks for looking.
