| Considering the age of the tech resident in your pc It's not going to be cost effective (or really possible) to upgrade this machine to a gaming machine. You'll require an AGP gpu, I'd suggest a 7600GS or GT. These cards still command a premium due to the market being so small for AGP cards. If you still intend to pursue an upgrade for your machine try to get one of these second hand to save some money. You'll need to bin the 256mb simm and purchase 2x 512mb modules. This will massively increase performance in Windows and will also help with games. But the achilles heel of your system is the cpu, regardless of the other upgrades this cpu will cause bottlenecks in recent titles. At 1.5ghz and it being a pentium 4 (a lousy gaming cpu) it's not going to help your card one iota. My recommendation would be a new system, 'course, I'm just a nerd, what do I know.

| from experience dont go with the GS, thats only my opinion, but my mate was given a GT on top of his GS and there aint much difference, but enough to give any game a boost. i dont think prices are that much different either
