i have a problem with my computer, im getting a new one but i need this one for other reasons, the main problem is that it shuts itself off 85% of the time before it gets to the profile page, and all i see down the page is 4 broken lines and inch apart spanning the screen. also when starting up i get a shed load of these things going accross the screen " " " " " from top to bottom, just to let everyone know here are the specs for the computer: (what i know anyway)
pentium 4
768 Mb ram
120gb hard drive
Nvidia geforce grafics card (cant remember the number) but i dont think its certified.
cant think of the speed thingy...
i know this may not help but if i can get some advice on what to do or how to fix it, your comments would be greatly appreciated.. thanks guys...

Can you start in safe-mode by pressing F8 repeatedly at start-up

Have you made any hardware changes lately like installing anything ? Also have you run the usual scans for virus's and malware?

Or use a paint brush. Make sure the fans are 100% clean.

Dust is almost always the cause of a restarting/freezing PC.

What do you mean its not certified?
That the drivers you used aren't or something?
What type of card is it?
