I turn on my cp and my screen is on too and on the screen appears "no signal". I check with my laptop the screnn is ok. First were some beeps now after I checked the video card no beep at all and if I turn off the cp it is off in a second usually it would take a few seconds.

Have no idea what could be wrond a few months ago it was fixed by a technician but i have doubts to go again to proffessionals so if you have some tips what to check i would be greatfull.

Thank in advance,

steven

Isn't there one you can borrow?

If not make sure it is compatible with your system i.e. PCI Express and that it is a cheap one so you don't waste your money.

It's not the graphics card. If it were, the system would not power down instantaneously - the system does not need a graphics card to POST. It's an overheating issue or the power supply, most likely.

Yeah sorry, try cleaning the dust inside the PC (if there is any) if that doesn't work make sure all fans are working. Finally I would get the PSU replaced.

I got confused between two threads and ran with what I was saying sorry.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm such a fool .

It's cool, the video card is almost always at least a possible point of failure in these things (just not when the system isn't POSTing), and the OP was phrased a little funny.
