Then SG is right.

It's an impossible and ludicrous situation.

The only explanation, if you are genuine, is that someone is toying with you.

Look mate,

The only way one computer is going to kick the others off, is if it is connected to the network in some way.

If the wireless adaptor is disabled or non existent, and the laptop is not plugged in to the ethernet, then it is not going to do anything.

If there is a wireless adaptor, which is switched on in the laptop, and it is emitting some crazy signal, then it could possibly be causing this, but even then it is unlikely, or you would have every script kiddy walking down to the local internet cafe causing havoc with it.

Basically, I am saying that some one else in your household thinks it is really funny to play a silly game somehow, causing you a lot of frustration!

which is why i said you wouldn't believe this if it never happened to you, the fact that this happens when he is not connected to the network is beyond me. i believe that the people who said there may be a problem with the wall circuit may be right

no one here want's to play games with me, we all just want to get on. if i suffer, he suffers and everyone else suffers. we are not enemies, we all want to resolve his

even if they did want to play games with me (they don't ffs!) i have the router in my room, i'm the only guy who can play games and i don't play games with peoples connectivity

it's got nothing to do with the laptop guy, i was just explaining the full circumstances, it's the guy with the single wired pc who knocks us all offline

don't ****ing tell me it's not possible when it happens to me daily

i know it makes no sense, if you don't know the answer fair enough but don't ****ing reply to me with your "look mate" response, i made this thread on the offchance someone had experienced this before and could help, not to have a friggin argument about whether i am genuine or not ffs

Well that changes it all. If the computer that knocks you offline is connected by a wire, then I expect that is broadcast storming.

But if it does the same thing when there is no wire, you would be quite right by what you said in your first post:

this seems impossible to me

You can test this out once and for all.

Get all the computers in one room on a table.

Take one extension lead from the wall, and plug everything into this one socket.

Put the router in the middle.
Use an ethernet cord to plug all the computers in except for your mates one that knocks you off.

Connect your laptop wirelessly as normal.

Turn all the computers on and ensure that they are all connecting properly.

Now plug the magic computer in and turn it (without it connected to the network in any way).

If the computers loose connectivity then I take everything back I have said. I will also say there is something seriously seriously wrong with that computer.

If it doesn't knock you off the network, then either somehow the cabling is wrong in the house, the ethernet leads in the house are wrong, or there is no problem at all.

Please do this test, I know it is a hassle, but I am sure the problems you are having are far more annoying.

If you don't want to do the test then I have no interest in spending any more of my time on the thread (as will others) because it is a waste of everyone's time.
