| well basically i was building a budget pc and spent around...£200 which £130 of it went to waste due to falty purchased murcihandise(bearing in mind they were bran-new stuff.) so basically i need to start over and i have configured a build which i think is ok for ME im only 14 so i wasnt going for anything amazing. i had £2100 pound to spend but this money is supposed to be a fall back money for when i leave education... but the faulty merchandice i bought broke my sisters pc(i was testing it), then having to pay out for a £400 laptop i was reduced to £1700. i do not want to spend my money because i will need it for better things when i leave education so i need YOUR help in giving me advice whether my build is worth the purchase. i have gatherd various componets from over the WWW and have constructed what i think is an OK build, i will now name and link the items i wish to purchase but please tell me if these items are 1, not worth the money or 2, are not compatable. right here we go.... CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 245 Processor Socket AM3 Motherboard: Asus M4A77TD pro RAM: Corsair TW3X2G1600C9D PC3-12800 PSU: 700W Black CiT ATX Power Supply GPU: ATI Radeon HD4670 1GB...(ok before i move onto this i have three diffrant choices..1.Sapphire, 2.Diamond, 3.powercolor....i have no idea which one is better so i will need your help) -Sapphire -Diamond -Powercolor ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- lol the things above i have abit of knowlegde on but there is one thing i need YOUR help with, is cooling systems are there any good cases and cpu heatsink/fans that would be good and cheap for my build??? ![]() i would very much apreciate replys, and i hope some one or some people get back to me if you want any further contact of me please e-mail me at <email removed, against forum rules> and please i want no one sending me ridiculous messages nor do i want biased views that i have chosen ATI and AMD Thankyou, Keon Viljoen a.k.a "I NeedMuchHelp I" |

| That PSU is going to blow up, you don't need DDR3 (nor that fast of DDR3), and that graphics card is underpowered. Try that same processor with a MA770-UD3, 4GB of DDR2-800, a 400CX, and a 4850. The stock heatsink should be fine, if you're looking for a case try the Centurion 5.

| lol^^ ty but first of all ure saying why have DDR3, telling me to get DDR2 then a 4850>.< lol tht requires DDR3 and did you know tht the reccommended power wattage for the 4650 is 400 and it max power out put is 48wattz lol did you know the 4850 is 110wattz, that means it will need more then that shabby 400w corsair psu, and why will my psu blow up? dont even say because of the make. but ty for you time^^ |

For anyone else viewing this thread, though, this is all blatantly false. Memory has nothing to do with video card compatibility (if it's PCI Express, it will work fine) and "recommended" PSU wattage totals are inflated (mostly because people buy horrible off-brand PSUs like the one above). A 400CX will run any midrange video card fine. Note also that that "700W" PSU only has one PCI-E connector - this is a clue that it's not exactly going to do 700W at load. "High-wattage", no-name PSUs like this are a dime a dozen.
