My 2pence.

If you've around a 100.00 to spend i'd stay away from the 7600gs card's considering the core spec, the selection might be wider than you think.

Have you had a look at the Connect3D x1900gt? Sligthly over your budget at 110.00 (ebuyer) but look at the specs:

36pixel pipes and 12 rops, gpu of 512mhz and ddr3 at 1.3 ghz effective (not a massive bandwidth but not bad).

Its basically just a slimmed down x1900xtx which not too long ago was ATI's (sorry AMD's) top-end card.

Good post Alex.

Today i went and got a 7800GS 256mb AGP.

RRP 199.99

I paid 99.99

PC World had the thing priced up wrong and I just couldn't resist the bargain.

Don't really know if its the best thing for £100 quid but at half price, even online a bargain non the less.

Firstly, well done for socking it to an overpriced, non-helpful retailer such as pcworld :D

Secondly, damn. Good price. The 78GS's got for about 180 online, let alone on the high street.

Yeah, according to law they have to sell it for the price advertised.

I wouldn't normally boast about this sort of thing but Dixons group make millions and as I worked there for a year or so when I left school it makes up the crap wages I got.

Having a weird turn of luck this week.

On top of the discounted gfx card yesterday, today an order for a customer arrived from my supplier.

I ordered an Acer Sempron 3400+, 512mb etc no monitor. Worth £200

I got an Acer AMD 64 X2 3800+ 2GB Ram 320SATA HD and 19" Wide-screen TFT. Worth £650. The only downside is its a Mini PC (the size of a set top box) with a crap gfx card so I can't use it personally.

Naturally I didn't tell them and just re-ordered the correct PC for my customer.

I see an eBay sale coming on tonight.

Well they do say things come in 3's

Lets hope someone orders a 7300 and you get sent a 8800gtx.

That'd be sweet. :D
