Is there any relevance to the 7's in both of their new products?

Is it simply cleaver marketing by Intel and Microsoft?

Are both companies in cahoots?

ie: Customer goes into PC shop to get a PC, sees the new Windows 7 everywhere, then when picking a spec goes with Core i7 because they match and that builds trust even on a subconscious level with the people who don't understand the jargon.

Yeah, I saw that too. Interesting coincidence, especially because neither are actually their 7th release.

Yeah they planned it like that. Forget that Windows 2007 is (as usual for MS) way late. MS and Intel are in a conspiracy. It's all detailed on this site here:

http://www.ericisgreat.com/tinfoilhats

EDIT: Has anyone here actually bought the new chip MoBo and RAM? I almost did on black Friday, but decided to wait til I knew a little more. 500 for the chip (midrange, one was 250 the other was a grand), 350 for the MoBo and another 250 for the specialized RAM..........

I was being deliberately dramatic to spark a response.

You all joke but... I know that it is Windows 7th release. Nothing unusual about that.

As Windows comes pre-installed on just about every PC sold they hardly need any help but it would be a smart move to name your new CPU along the same lines ie;Intel.

Even that small insignificant detail could aid sales over AMD.

Many, many, many people go into a PC shop and one of the first things they notice and have to choose between is the CPU they go with.
