i dont know about that lol. At this moment of time i have choices:

- either install a vista 64-bit but not sure about the hardware compatibility though... and not sure how much hassle i will end up with.

- or wait abit for the Windows 7 to come out and install 64 bit of that...

P.S. and whats wrong with a 9500?

so whats the best option?

Personally, I would wait for the Win7 rather than spend any money on Vista. Not that I am bashing Vista mind you, I just think it will be orphaned fairly quickly after the Win7 release.

As far a hardware compatibility? i haven't seen anything in your spec's that won't be compatible with 64 bit Vista.

Compatibility's fine.

But yeah, get the Windows 7 RC1, and then the full version when it's released, as Bubba said, it's not worth buying Vista now.

And isn't the highest mark 7.9??

Or is that just on 7.. Because my CPU and RAM both get 7.1, which is a bit disturbing if the highest is 5.9

Must just be on Win7. In Vista the highest is 5.9. Of course you can change the parameters to show any number you want in Vista..........

Lol yeah, but that's cheating!!

And its not even a game

I was really surprised with my W7 scores from my new build though.

How can an un OC'd Q6600 be 7.1/7.9 ?!

What the hell would an OC'd i7 extreme be?!

And I was told my HDD's where crap, but they got 5.9 lol.

Right guys i'll take your valuable comments on board.

The good thing is that i work for one of the best it companies out there specialises on web + graphics design therefore i get free access to many microsofts software including all versions of Vista + even Win7 Beta/RC etc... without the need to pay lol. How great

As you here im more on software side (multimedia side to be precise) hence my lack of knowledge in hardware so thats why i want to learn more as i go along in developing my experience.

I understand my hardware are compatitble but my other issue is with drivers etc..

Many people have i spoken too, is concerned about drivers compatibility whlist switching to 64-bit.

I always get confused with RC.
Whats the point in it?
Is it a working OS? Safe?

I haven't installed it, but mainly because I have a video editing program called Pinnacle that struggles with Vista, or really anything developed this century (it's french you see). I have not spoken to a soul who has had a problem with it. Heck, whenever I update my drivers, I'm seeing Win7 drivers on the sites as well for most things. The problems I would have would be with the software. I never learned ANY Windows and I'm been fooling with them since Bill Gates was in short pants. I was always "going to next week." I am getting rather proficient with Vista however. WHat really chaps my butt is that I bought an OEM copy of 64 bit home Premium to put in my daughters computer when I built it, and then decided (my wife decided lol) that she had enough computer. So here I am sitting on an unopened copy of Vista that I have had too long to take back........

It's not really a gaming graphics card.
