Default Keyboard and Mouse issues

Hello, i have recently built a computer and every thing works fine except when i turned it on the device manager has the mouse listed as a "unknown device" but works; the keyboard on the other hand is also listed as "unknown device" and doesn't work at all and has a yellow exclamation point next to in on device manager. my mouse is a "Microsoft Wheel Optical USB Mouse" and my keyboard is "Logitech Deluxe 250 Keyboard" both should be hot pluggable and came with no driver disk and i have look on both sites for drivers and have found none because i believe them to be hot plugable.
i have also tested the keyboard on my sisters laptop and my parents computer and it worked both times with out a flaw
if it helps my comp stats are:
amd athlon 64 fx-62
gigabyte s-series socket am2
2gb of ddr2 ram
geforce 7600gt
western digital 320gb sata
and just for reference i am quite computer savvy and i have my A+ certification and i just asked here for some third party input

these are USB? Have you tried other mouses/keyboards? Could be your ports, ensure all motherboard drivers were installed.

Default Keyboard and Mouse issues

Although the keyboard doesn't need any third party driver, it does need the Microsoft driver.

Have you tried uninstalling the keyboard in Device Mangler and rebooting
