Hi there, I hope someone can help me out here. I an using a Compaq Presario M2013AP. Recently the screen developed a vertical band exactly 2.5 inches wide from top to bottom where the colour has faded.
I thought this was a case of dead pixels and downloaded a program called UDPixel to help prod the pixels back to life but hasn't worked.
Will greatly appreciate any assistance rendered.
Thanks

Thanks Kanoakavirus but my settings have not been changed since the day I bought the laptop which was 3 years ago. And I have never used an external monitor.

Take a screen shot and paste it in paint, if you can see the band on the screen shot then id put my money on your settings in the display properties, if you can not see a band then it may be something more serious. Would you be able to take a picture and upload it here?
