For reliability, cheaper price and ease of upgrade/repair, a small form factor PC is often your best bet. You could even get a old PC, gut it, and stick it in a small case, if the jobs its going to be doing are pretty basic.

Looks fine to me! Just a query though, I don't know if a 80watt PSU will be enough, I don't see why not however.

Check out the ASROCK ION330 ..... this is a good ready made alternative.
Also doubles as a fairly decent HTPC, if needed.

I think your original choice would be my pick, as this, together with the ASROCK, I listed, has the NVIDIA ION Chipset. This is far superior and can perform upto 10 x faster than other on board graphics cards.

I suppose it depends on what you are going to use it for. I wouldn't worry too much about fan noise, as my ASROCK ION 330 is extremely quiet.

mini itx cases some of them have got low profile pci slots but lets say when you buy a pci or pci-e card cant you change the metal bracket to a smaller one so it can fit in the case as the cards are screwed on the bracket so cant you swap it with another bracket, heres the link

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conventional_PCI

look at the section Low Profile
