OK, so last night I may have spilled some liquid on my laptop in a drunken state. Now this morning my laptop won't switch on. I press the power button but nothing happens.

The strange thing is that every so often the laptop starts up by itself, but then dies after a few seconds.

Can anybody help with this?

well the reason the laptop starts up by itself, could be because the liquid is shorting out the connections for the power switch (making the laptop think the power button was pressed) but is still shorted somewhere else too, causeing the laptop to notice there is soemthing wrong and shutting down again.

All you can do is get the hair dryer out and hope for the best!

I've noticed that when I remove the battery and put it back in, the machine starts itself up but then dies after 2 or 3 seconds. Any suggestions?
