Default Looking for a gaming pc.....

Hey Guys

Was searching fleabay, and came across http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GAMING-PC-BUND...QQcmdZViewItem

I was wondering, is it a good deal?? I've been after a new comp for a while, as my laptop isn't any good for gaming. So thought I'd save up and get one. It'll be a while yet, but is this a good deal?? Or would it be better to upgrade my Laptop?? Or even my Home Desktop??

My Laptop is an Acer Aspire 5051 - 80GB HD - 1.5GB RAM - 14.1" - AMD Turion 64 2.0GHz

And Home Desktop is a HP Compaq DX2300 MicroTower. 160GB HD 1GB RAM and the rest I don't know.

So let me know your views.

Cheers

Ben

It does look the part, but it is very gimmicky, the graphics card is TBH a piece of crap, the CPU is barely mid-range, the HDD is about £30-40, not worth it in my opinion

I agree, its not worth what he is asking. But he does seem to sell a lot of PC's for some reason.

Some more specs on your current desktop would be useful.

One saving grace is the board supports core 2.

But I still wouldn't buy it.

Anyway, the mobo supports ddr2 400/533/667mhz ram. Which is not very good. Whilst dual-core intels don't require the bandwidth of their quad-core bretheren you still want fast ram (pc6400 - 800mhz) for gaming, and a decent cpu (Pentium D's are in no way good gaming cpu's-basically two p4 single core's glued together).

Nope, I think you'll be disappointed if you purchase.

Just look at the sticker on the RAM you have at the moment. That should tell you.

Not a good deal at all.

The Graphics card is pants and the CPU is very mid range and wont cope with extreme gaming.

I would suggest an upgrade to your current machine. What are the specs of your computer?

or maybe build a computer yourself using ebuyer.com or novatech.co.uk

He's doing a good job of the pirating then because he sold hundreds of PC's. Makes you wander though.
