Default Loud fan

hi, lately i'v been wondering why my pc is so loud (you can here it in the next room with the door shut) so i opened it up and found which fan it was. i dont know what fan it is, im no good with the insides of computers, iv attached an image. i was wondering if you could tell me what fan it is and how i could make it quieter?

oops, forgot top point out which fan it is. well its just the one u can see. The AVC one.

Ok, well first of all, don't remove/disconnect it, doing that will fry your computer.

Now for the info about what to do:
That is your CPU fan (if you don't know what a CPU is, there is a topic on these forums somewhere expalining) and from the picture looks very dusty, this could be effecting it. Try getting some compressed air blown over it to remove the dust, or even just a vacuum cleaner (although it's not as good) just don't hit it, that could damage it.

If once you have cleaned it there is no improvement with noise, the fan bearings/brushes could have gone, this would mean you would need to buy a new cooler. If you think this could be the case, come back here and we will help you find the right replacement.

i did actually vacuum clean it after i took that pic and it did quiet down a bit. oh iv just realised now while typing this that my PSU is pretty loud, i didnt notice that. i cant be bothered with buying that sort of stuff for loudness. oh well. thanks anyway for the help

Noisy fans (after cleaning) are a pretty good sign they are on the way out.

After they get loud they stop and your PC melts itself.

I'd advise buying a new fan (the cost of a few pints) or you could end up paying for a new computer.

I find those cans a bit stupid to be honest, afterall they are just can's of air. I use my dad's air compressor when I need it though.
