Default low budget

hii. =)

ive decided instead of buying a pre-made computer id rather build one myself, since it will be the way i want it and it should give me more of an insight to the hardware.

im on a low budget and want to throw together a gaming computer. I have been looking around and got myself a list of most of the stuff i need. I'm just not sure that its all compatible with each other =\ or maybe ive left something out?

The list i made is in the attachment. =)
(the graphics card is open to suggestion)

any help is appreciated ^.^

i'd want to be very careful buying off of ebay first of all...just making sure you know there are risks involved.

i mainly have a beef with your choice of motherboard and more importantly, the PSU.

if you can find a motherboard that supports ddr2 800, and possibly even 1066, then you'd be in good shape because you need to plan a little bit more for the future. in no time, your pc will be out of date AGAIN as memory standards will change pretty rapidly. i'm only suggesting this because if it were me, i'd rather not have to upgrade my entire motherboard a second time in only 2-3 years. i'd rather make changes as late as 5 years from now.

and as for the PSU...i'm rather worried because of the kind of deal you're getting. 600 watts for such a low price? doesn't that scream, "i'm going to explode on you when you plug me in and turn me on!" to you at all?

as a general rule of thumb, here in the US, if you are paying 80-90 for about 500-550 watts, then you're in decent shape. otherwise, you're either being price gouged, or if you find that stuff for 60 bucks and less, it's horrifically poor quality.

i know you're on a tight budget, but if the PSU just dies on you, you're stuck without a PC entirely mate.

never skimp on the PSU. ever. #1 rule of computer building.

the rest of the parts look fairly decent to me. the 7900 is a very good choice for graphics on your budget, and the memory is pretty good too. bidding ended for the cooling thing though, so i couldn't see that.

other than changes to the motherboard and the PSU, you're pretty much set. Please, PLEASE watch out for that PSU. because if you buy that and it blows, it might take out MORE than just itself. these low quality PSUs have been known to take out other parts like the mobo, proc, and other parts.

yah, something about that PSU doesn't seem quite right. Will have to keep looking for a decent one.

to be honest, i know nothing of motherboards, just that i don't want to spend a large amount on one. =p so im not sure what to look for =\

as for the cooling thing, it was just a fan. when ya opened the link you just need to scroll down a bit to see it ;)

Thanks for the help ^.^

thanks :D i try.

ALSO. i just remembered another important detail.

DOUBLE CHECK THE MOTHERBOARD AND VIDEO CARD!

make sure that these parts come with the necessary driver discs and other installation materials. otherwise when you buy it, you're stuck and you'll have to go to the manufacturer and buy the disc off to the side. a real hassle. so make sure those are included. i didn't really check on my own through the links.
