Default Memory Problem. I Am Down to Just 10% of Memery Left

Good day all!.

I hope i am in the right 'department' for this problem. I am down to just 2.06GB of memory out of 10.6. I could not download a PDF file because of this today. What can i do to clean out things that might be taking up too much of the memory for what they are worth? The trouble is i do not know what is good and bad. Or alternatively how can i increase the memory please?

I have a Kingston data traveller which came with the laptop (HP Presario). Can this be used in any way to help? I have to admit to total ignorance as to what this little thing does except that i was told it increases the memory!

Thanking you for your help.
Regards to all

You mean hard drive space? I don't know many people with 10.6GB of memory...

You need to remove some stuff, old programs you don't use, old photos, music etc that may be taking up space.

You could also get a little program called CCleaner (Free) which automatically scans your PC and removes stuff like tempory files and other stuff not needed.

Thant normally free's up a fair bit.

Start -> run -> "%tmp%" -> OK -> delete everything in that folder.

Often temp directories can get bloated..or just use Ccleaner.

Thank you both very much. I shall give them a try. I have already given Eusing Free Registry a go and it has made no difference tho. I actually don't have games or music at all in the comp. The only thing i do which might add to the problem is i watch a lot of tennis on one or two streaming sites.

Thanks again and i will post the results
