I wouldn't run Norton or McAfee if they paid me, they turn a perfectly fast PC into a slow machine.

Without sounding like a broken record I would advise Avast, its just as good as any other anti-virus, its free, and doesn't slow your machine down.

Change over, you'll see a highly noticeable difference in the speed of your computer.

That is true, I was just directly answering the question he asked about if he needed to get more. But yes if he does need to upgrade then that program would be a great one to use altho in my opinion it would be easier to just take the case off and look, but that only because I have quick release on my case.

Sure, but taking the side of the case off wont tell him the spec of the RAM, type, speed etc.

Hey guys, he is a she. I just use my cat's name online. :)

I know McAfee is slowing me down but.....I like Mcafee because it does a really good job for me and I've already paid for it.

I guess since I'm not willing to switch from McAfee, I need to tolerate a slow machine?

That's ok. I usually post about that in my introduction. I can't remember if I did that here or not.

I'm still very interested in learning from you guys. :)
