| My mouse recently started to go mad every now and again. It's a Logitech wireless mouse and the problem is that sometimes the cursor shoots to the top left hand corner of the screen, it occassionaly drags round the screen and the mouse buttons don't always work first time when I'm clicking on links, buttons etc. I've scanned the computer with McAfee and no viruses have popped up. Does anybody have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| http://www.computer-juice.com/forums/f8/calibrate-your-mouse-15259/ Sorry, couldn't resist it ![]() As for your problem, have you tried cleaning the mouse off? That might help with the jumping around. For the mouse clicks I have no idea... Have you another mouse you could try to see if it is a problem with the mouse itself?

| Cheers Dave but it's not the batteries. Serverguy the mouse has been cleaned out so who knows what it could be. The Y to G link was very funny! ![]() |

| Do you have a wireless network. I replaced my wireless router recently and it interfered with my wireless mouse. |

| The nature of the problem seems to suggest not a fault, but more of an interference between the mouse and the computer. Try the following: Moving any other wireless components away from the mouse and receiver. Place the receiver directly in front of the mouse, and see if the problem persists. Try the mouse on different surfaces. Use different USB ports. My System: =/

| i would say, look at the manufaturer's specs for all the wireless devices you have around your computer, see what frequency they operate on, if the mouse is the same as one of the other devices, it is most likley interference, if not, then it is most likley a manufaturing defect, if this is the case, see if it is still within the warrenty period that you got, if it is, get it repaired.

| I have a Logitech Trackman wired, my friend gave me it, he'd had it around 10 years and replaced it with a wireless when the primary button stopped working... All I did was open it up, place a folded piece of paper between the button and it's switch and it worked. The inside of the button had been worn down by 10 years of use, but it works again now, I've had it nearly 2 years, and my friend's wireless version of the same model is still working fine, he hardly even needs to change the batteries. I guess it depends on the model you get, I've heard of people having reliability problems with Logitech pointer devices before... but never anyone I actually know. As to your problem, look for anything that could interfere with the wireless connectivity, for example a piece of metal between device and transmitter... |

| I think the keyword here is "Logitech"... I had two different models of Logitech mice pack up on me in the past like that...

| Also there's stuff you can download to do this as a prank, might want to check your startup for suspicious files also boot up in safe mode networking and see if it happens.
