I do have cable ties in there - They are holding the cables together above the CPU heatsink.

Nice job for a first build. I don't think the cable management is that bad.

Nothing Tom. Nothing's wrong with it.

The Q6600 is an all time great cpu. The others are referring to the fact it has now been usurped by better Intel cpu's.

But it's still the best all-round quad in my book.

One thing though; lower the hard disk in the caddy so it faces the centre of the intake fan, that way you get air-flow above and below it. It'll promote drive longevity.

Well, the 8600 has been..erm..not the greatest video card and not the greatest buy for a long time. It's just a odd set paired with the quad, similar to sticking a giant spoiler on a Geo Metro.

"A giant spoiler on a Geo Metro"

Usage dependent Carbon.

If he's, purely, gaming at over 1280x1024 then I'd tend to agree with your opinion.

However, if he's doing any kind of encoding/burning and maybe also gaming then the spec makes more sense. Or do you disagree with that?

However, as I'm unable to see anywhere in the thread a usage quoted then you're getting a tad ahead of yourself don't you think?

That's true. I guess I'm just used to similar builds being put out by OEM as gaming rigs.

This rig is my main computer. Whilst it does get used for gaming, I wouldn't make use of an 8800. It's an all round machine :)
