Hey all,

My PC keeps restarting itself, and can restart upto 5 times consecutively. On top of that, my USB ports have stopped working.

I'm thinking it could be a virus(I have a checker which keeps detecting them and deleting them, but I think we're talking about years worth of them), but I'm not sure why the USB ports aren't working- I tried cleaning them, but other than that I don't know what else to do.

My OS is Windows XP Home Edition.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Also, I've been reading a bit about defragmentation and have heard it is important to do it on a regular basis. I never defrag...is that something I should be doing?

Thanks a lot :)
