Hi, I am going to buy a new custom built PC with the following specs but I would like to have some feedback about it so that I would know whether I am buying the right things or not.

So the list is;

Motherboard - Asus Blitz Formula SE iP35
C.P.U. - Intel Core2Quad Q6600
R.A.M. - Corsair TwinX XMS2 Dominator PC8500 (1066Mhz)
Video-card - 728MB BFG PCI-Express GF 8800GTX
Speakers - Logitech X540 5.1 Surround Speakers
Hard-Disk - 2* 500GB 7200rpm - Seagate SATA2
Power Supply - Enermax Galaxy 1000W
Optical Drive - Pioneer DVR-212 18x Black Dual Layer
U.P.S. - 1400VA Centralion Blazer Line Interactive
Windows - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (OEM)
Network - Edimax 54G Wireless USB Adaptor
Case - ThermalTake Kandalf
Keyboard and Mouse - Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000

I am not sure about the printer and monitor to buy but all that I know is that with regards to the:

Printer - It should be all-in-one (no fax needed), should be network enabled and could be used when the main PC the printer is installed on is switched off, would have a high printing resolution, comes also with an LCD screen and a card-reader.

Monitor - First of all I would like a wide monitor either 19" or 22" with outstanding picture quality and that the frame would be black in colour.

Also I am not sure whether to install a water cooling system to it as well since I am abit skeptic about it. Otherwise could please someone suggest me an alternative cooling system that is very good and would cool down the system well.

So, could someone suggest me brands and models with regards to the printer and monitor since I do not know what the choose exaclty.

Hope there would be feedback since I really need it.

What are you wanting to do with that PC? because they are very high specs.

To keep it cool you are going to have a few fans going, I'm not familiar with that case but a few 120mm fans are needed.

Nice build, how many gigs of RAM are you going to put into it? as programs like autocad require quite alot
As for a monitor I would go with the Samsung 226BW as I have heard lots of great things about it

For cooling if you are a beginner WC is a bit complicated to start off with, you could alternatively use a good aftermarket HSF like the Scythe Ninja or ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro
Hope that helps

Hi, as regards the RAM I am going to buy 2GB and as for the monitor the Samsung 226BW you told me about seems to be quite good, infact it is good for me. Also about the cooling think that I will not opt for wc but use an alternative.

Hi, I have decided about the Monitor and Printer.

The Monitor would be the latest Samsung one the 2232BW 22"wide and with regards the Printer I would be going for the Canon PIXMA MP600R which has everything I need.

About the case, it is the ThermalTake Kandalf Silver with 25cm side fan, does the side fan makes any differance? Also, being a case made of full aluminium (both the outside and the chassis) does it make any differance with regards to cooling.

Hope someone could help.

Marketing hype aside the material used in a case makes no difference whatsoever to how efficiently your components are cooled because you don't use the case as a heatsink.

The only company that currently due this are Zalman with their (extraordinarily expensive) TN series of cases.

The material used will impact on cost (steel is cheaper than alu), weight (steel is heavier than alu thickness for thickness).

Material thickness can also impact on sound levels as the thinner the material (regardless of which material) the more shudder you can get from the case fans spinning.

The kandalf is a decent, albeit middle-of-the-road, case. The 25cm fan pushes cool air directly onto any expansion cards you may have (graphics, sound etc). The larger fan the better actually as they are able to shift the same amount of air as smaller fans (80, 92,120mm) but at lower rpm speeds, reducing volume.

@Alex 10q for your reply, still have some more questions. I am going to install a Zalman CNPS9700-NT for the CPU. Will there be any effect with regards to the air circulation?? Also, will the Zalman hit the 25cm side fan??
