Referring to the 2 pin you mentioned earlier, this allows connection of the 6-pin connector with this 2-pin connector to any card (X2900) with the 8-pin PCI-E power port. Sorry, forgot to comment on that in my earlier posts.

Referring to the 3-pin you mention above; I'm confused, you've said it's brown and then said you can't tell the colour.

edit: ok does it matter what fan connector i connect the psu fan into?
secondly do i plug the 2 chassis fans into the chassis fans port or the sys fan port
after that all i need to do is connect the hard drives and disk drives i think?

ok, i think this is the last thing before i power up, i have connected thd harddrives and dvd drives up but the sata connector to power the disk drives and hard drives come in cables that have 3 connectors must i have the end connector attached? as i have the first 2 attached and the rest is hanging around freely also is it ok to have the cable with only 1 out of the 3 cables connected and if so what one must i connect

ok can you look over this before i power up
i have 2 dvd drives connected vis a cable from the psu with 2 sata power connectors the 1st and second one is plugged in the last one is free
i have the harddrive connected via a 4pin molex lead with 3 molex connections attached to the psu with a molex to sata adapter connected i also have a extra extractor fan attached to the molex but the fan seems to have a connection that goes between a molex connection but i only have it plugged in at the back of the connection nothing is coming out of the front
i hope that made sense, i want to get this thing on now XD

Sorry for the delay in replying, been finishing up an article.

I'll have a look at your board now.

Have you got it connected to the header located on the edge of the board's pcb, close to the ram slots?

Is the connector firmly connected to the header.

And (I've got to ask) are you sure it's not spinning? A HSF without a working fan tends to allow the cpu to heat up alarmingly quickly and cause a shut-down.

Sounds like you've not got an optimal seal between the HSF and cpu.

The T.I.M has also just been added and will take some time to cure allowing for lower temps.

As you've just added the T.I.M I'd highly recommend checking the connection between HSF and CPU. Ensure all 4 pins are pushed through the mobo correctly and locked by turning the pins 180 degrees.
