I was thinking, could the motherboard be faulty?

If the green power light is coming on then the mobo is getting power so it doesn't suggest the psu is broken (not yet anyway). Just ensure all power ports on the mobo are connected properly, same with all components.

A 550w Antec is powerful enough, (and stable enough), and will have all necessary connections.

Potentially, simply because we don't know what it is yet, so we've got to include the mobo in the equation.

i'll have a check through, but if it doesn't work i think i'll call a specialist out to have a look at it because i won't know what to do, or how to do it.

I'll let you know what the problem was;D

Not sure I have helped Pidge, but thanks anyway.

Just double check your build; connections, components etc before doing anything.

yeah you've helped:) but i don't really know what is meant to be connected to what etc, i'm only a novice on pc:P

it must be the connections or a bust mobo:P

i'll get a specialist to sort it i think haha:D
