I ordered loads of new pc parts and assembled them today into my case. Everything works fine, all the fans spin, the motherboard light comes on.
However, my monitor does not work, i just swapped monitors from my other computer so i know that theres nothing wrong with the monitor. When i put the monitor cable into the slot the monitor does register a connection (the check signal sign dissapears), however nothing comes up on the display. HARD DRIVE 1TB Western Digital WD10E RAM 1GB DDR2, will upgrade to 4gb soon. MOBO Asus P5Q SE Motherboard S775 Intel P45 ATX SATA Gigabit LAN PROCESSOR Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Socket 775 GPU 896MB Gainward GTX 260 Golden Sample 55nm, 2200MHz GDDR3, GPU 625 MHz, Shader 1242 MHz, 216 Cores PSU Corsair Corsair HX 450W Power Supply Ive tried a PCIE GPU (new one,) still no display. I tried a PCI card from my old build which i know works perfectly and still no display. Im thinking the motherboard might be faulty as i dont get any beeps on startup. even if i remove the RAM completly. What do you think? Also could you recommend me another good MOBO ? |

Sounds silly, but double check all your connectors from your power-supply, don't forget the ones to your graphics card! (person sitting here spent 20mins swearing at his pc when it did what yours is doing, only to find I hadn't put a cable in)
If everything seems okay, try resetting your BIOS?? And I believe that mobo is already very good, just perhaps yours is faulty, though that's rather rare! |

Don't assemble into the case the first time. Assemble out of the case, get it working, then put it in the case. You probably forgot the standoffs or something.
