That card looks great and is on my list of things to buy, however would this card be worth the extra twenty quid?

7600 GT AGP....

What games are the ones to be playing on the PC then? Doom 3, whats this Battlefield I hear so much about?
That card won't work, as it's an AGP connection, and not a PCI-E fella. Plus it's exactly the same spec'd card for more money simply because it's older technology for the interface and therefore has a smaller market.

I've dabbled in Battlefield but didn't like it. Doom3, whilst having a good game engine, is a dire game. Just my personal opinion of course.

I'm more into Command and Conquer, Empire at war. Oh, and chess also. :D

As far as i'm aware there hasn't been a graphics/tv card combo since the ATI 9 series or Nvidia 5 series (if anyone knows different, shout up). As these'll be AGP connections (as your link earlier) they also won't work, should you even be able to get hold of one.

Like I said I'm learning all the time. PCI/AGP are connections to motherboard... (bangs head of computer screen).

Not a massive fan of DOOM and I have never played C&C. I used to love Swat 3 etc So will have a look at Swat 4.... Cheers Alex

Hi Guys

My Dell arrived this morning, first impressions are good, hey after my lappy, anything is!!

The 22" monitor is fantastic and I am really pleased with everything.....

BUT

I have installed a Linksys wi fi card, it was a dream to set up and after a couple of clicks in Vista and entering the WEP code, it connected and was working fine, no problems in firefox or explorer.

I spent a while downloading software left it for 5 mins..... and now I cannot get a web page to load. The browser opens but its like I don't have a connection.

Could it be a firewall stopping it? or something else. My signal strength is excellent....

Is it something I have installed that Vista doesn't like??

HELP !!!

Cheers

Jay

Its sorted, the anti virus software I had downloaded, Avast! seemed to be the problem. once I had unistalled that, everything worked again fine.

Weird though, as the lastest version of Avast! should work with Vista?

Other than that hicup, I must say I am really quite pleased so far, but its early days yet!!

Cheers

I got a 22" monitor with my system. Its fantastic, however a couple of questions...

Firstly, I have read about people complaining about back light bleed? I have noticed a very small amount, is this normal, are you going to get a bit whatever the monitor and if so how much is too much??

Also I have just tried playing a movie (using windows media player) and the picture seems to jump quite a lot, is this graphics card? monitor set up or something else.

Oh and I've just thought of another one!! Whats the best settings for the monitor?

Cheers!

Just bought a e520 and here are my thoughts (I got the 2.4 C2D and 2gb ram,x1300 with Vista home prem, i paid 270 all in though ) Sometimes going through the business side will save loads of cash, but don't forget the VAT.

going back to graphics cards... the e520 doesn't have a 6 pin connector and only a 305W psu.... Some 8600GT require the connector others don't, and alot of the high spec DX9 cards do too. The X1300 is not worth the money, for 60ish you can get a 8600GT from novatech. The 9200 does have a larger psu and 6 pin connector if you need it. For the TV card make sure you get a vista media center compatible one, as it integrates tightly into Vista then. Other than that they are farily quiet and reliably built, used Dell 5xxx/e5xx equivalents for years at work.

Err, I'm actually sat typing on it now !! Thanks for the input anyway though. It seems you got yours a bit cheaper than mine, did you get a screen with it?

Any monitor tips greatly apreciated !
