| Hi guys, Just finished my first build but there is a problem. The computer appears to fire up and lights come on and the cd drive spins, but nothing is shown on the monitor. It just stays blank in its "standby" mode. Here are the specs: Intel Q6600 Quad Core Processor 2GB Corsair 800MHZ Memory MSI S775 nFORCE 650i 8ch Audio Motherboard (SLI Enabled) XFX Geforce 8600GTS 512MB Graphics card 320GB Samsung Hard Drive Linksys PCI Wireless card 20X Litescribe DVD drive Thermaltake Soprano case Thermaltake 750W PSU Thanks everyone and look forward to replies ![]() |

| does ur system stay on untill u turn it off? if ur system comes on and quickly turns bak off then ur mobo is short cutting make sure ur mobo isnt touching the case. that probably ant it but anythink that might help u |

| Is this without an operating system? Have you installed all the power connections?

| No, it turns off automatically after a brief period. Mobo isn't touching case. This is without an OS - there is nothing showing on my screen when computer is booted, therefore I can't get into the mobo BIOS, therefore I can't tell the computer to boot from a CD therefore I can't install an OS. |

| That sounds like a mobo short or a PSU problem, also try reseating the graphics card to rule out thats not causing a problem. |
