Default New Computer Not Working

Hi guys,

Just finished my first build but there is a problem. The computer appears to fire up and lights come on and the cd drive spins, but nothing is shown on the monitor. It just stays blank in its "standby" mode.

Here are the specs:

Intel Q6600 Quad Core Processor
2GB Corsair 800MHZ Memory
MSI S775 nFORCE 650i 8ch Audio Motherboard (SLI Enabled)
XFX Geforce 8600GTS 512MB Graphics card
320GB Samsung Hard Drive
Linksys PCI Wireless card
20X Litescribe DVD drive
Thermaltake Soprano case
Thermaltake 750W PSU

Thanks everyone and look forward to replies

Is this without an operating system? Have you installed all the power connections?

No, it turns off automatically after a brief period. Mobo isn't touching case.

This is without an OS - there is nothing showing on my screen when computer is booted, therefore I can't get into the mobo BIOS, therefore I can't tell the computer to boot from a CD therefore I can't install an OS.

That sounds like a mobo short or a PSU problem, also try reseating the graphics card to rule out thats not causing a problem.

We did reseat the graphics card.

If it is a motherboard problem, does this mean a new board is required? Is it a faulty board theyi sent me or is it something I have done?
