| Well, as I stated in my introductory thread, my computer recently died on me (graphics card completely crapped out on me) ![]() now im running with about $1000 (can go up to $1200 if need be) to build the new gaming/school computer (architecture school so im looking at running CAD and photoshop at least) ive got the monitor so thats not an issue. while i would love to build it myself, i screwed up so badly on my last one id rather not take the risk for the new computer. the screw ups ended up costing at least another $1000. not a very pleasant experience. ![]() ive looked around a tiny bit (emphasis on tiny) and found cyberpower as a distinct possibility for buying from. But i would love to know if there are any better places. any and all input would be greatly appreciated. -aceras |

| Go for the E8400. I have that motherboard, it's just OK, I'd get the 680i though. Other than that, looks fine. Oh, and shop at NewEgg ;)

| ty for the reply, still a bit wary of putting it together myself. but doing so would allow me those upgrades without going over budget..... arrgg. of course id be saving/upgrading a few $100.....and it could end up costing me a few $100 extra....ahhh, the dilemmas. |

| It's not hard. If you have a screwdriver and some patience, you'll be alright. Just remember to install the standoffs before mounting the motherboard! This is the most common mistake and the only one that could get you in real hot water.

| $220 for the old GTS isn't a good deal when you can get the cheaper, quieter GT for $250. PSU has weak rails, try something else. This is a little pricey but with rebate it's only $70. Other than that, looks good!
