What are you wanting to do with it?

Email?

Internet?

Games?

Take a look at my spec. This computer cost me £350 to build, with a 19" monitor, i put my heart and soul into finding the best components at the best price, it can play most new games very well, even oblivion easily. Its one hell of a build!

I think thats the best you could go for £350.

You could also swap things, eg, instead of 2.5gb ram, get 1.5gb and a better processor, etc, etc. Alternatively, you could go down the Intel route (just for you intel fans).

BUT, really, you should be asking, "what do i need?", rather than "what can i get for £350?". Think about what you want to use it for exactly, eg, in particular, what games? Are you a web developer? Are you a computer enthusiast?, etc, etc.

Agreed, there is no point in setting a budget if the PC won't do what you want it to.

well im a bit of an enthusiast so it needs to run fairly fast and have a decent sized hard drive i may do a little gaming on it so i would need an ok graphics card apart from that just general use e.g internet downloading and emails

I think you should go ahead with the best RAM and the good processor with a descent hard drive installed in it .....if you wanna play games on it, then you should buy a better graphic card.........

Are you looking to build it? or buy from manufacturer?

I'd suggest build one, get a mate round to help you and have a go.

Go to ebuyer.com and have a look at some components.
I'd suggest an AMD processor (Athlon 64 etc...), 1Gb ram if running XP, 2Gb if Vista.
