Hi Davegbh
From your post i understand you have just installed this PSU ?, Mains is ON ?, many PSUs have a switch located on its outer face, the 20 or 24 pin power connector is plugged firmly in to the Motherboard ?, did you remove any components to install the PSU, if so have you reinstalled them correctly - worth checking, when all mains power is ON and you engage start do you see any LEDs light up at the front of your Computer ? any movement in the cooling fans, does your Motherboard have any LEDs ?. The Computer you have installed this PSU to was it fully working before you installed the PSU and if you don't mind me asking why did you change the PSU, sorry so many questions but we need to know what is happening so help can be offered

thnx for ur replies guys im sure u can tell im very new to computing, but im trying to learn, which is not easy at my age.The psu was given to me by a computer service technician who assured me that it was ok.The power switch seems to be connected to the mother board ok and no lights come on and neither is there any movement from the fan.Can i conclude that the mother board is kaput?
