only recently when i turn my computer on, there has been a fairly loud vibrating sound..... its got to be a fan of sorts, you can tell clearly by the sound. its deffinetly not my graphics card as i have a heatskin the size of a house instead of a fan cooled card.

im guessing its my processor fan, would dust cause this sound? im sure it aint that dusty if im honest ive looked recently and seemed pretty clean. if i was to go ahead and clean it, whats the general procedure?

my pc was noisy on bootup and in general, and i cleaned my psu fan and then its been running pretty quitely since then.i don`t know bout processor fan,but i would`ve thought if you just unsrew it and the untatch it from the heatsink then just blow/get all the dust of it,it would be fine. Also look at your psu to see how dusty that is.make sure you get the dust of all you fans though.

My old graphics card did a really loud vibrating noise on boot up.
Mine was due to the fact it was a £20 card and I think the fan had come loose or something.
I've put it in my brothers computer and and it is still doing it, don't know how to fix as i can not tighten the fan etc and more

If it is your CPU fan, and that should not be making any noticeable noise, you could test it by disconnecting the fan ONCE and boot, and as soon as your OS opens shut down your Computer, i would do this from cold and you will be luck if your CPU hits 25c in this test also you will find out if it is the CPU fan, and do remember to reconnect the CPU fan, you can do this with all your case fans (proses of elimination) one more thing if it is one of your fans and if your CPU cooler has a detachable fan you can buy a new one for a few £s
