Hello all

My brother is having a bit of trouble with his HP Pavilion.
The specs are,i think:
Pentium D, clocking in at 2.6Ghz
ATI 128Mb Card of some description
1Gb ram
etc
etc

He is running XP home.

The computer is running fine apart from when he had been on it 30mins or so it starts whirring like a good 'en. Like, really loud.

He is an avid WOW fan and it usually starts after half hour of playing that. It doesn't last longer than 2-3mins but then it regularly does it every 10mins after that.

It only has 1 120mm fan I believe so it maybe over heating or summat?

Cheers guys for any pointers into solving this....

Sam

It's going to be one of the fans probably.

The bearings go after time and they start to wine.

Replace them.

Yes, I was pretty sure it was the fan playing up.

Cheers

Yep most probably when the graphic card heats up the fan has to do more work, or maybe the fan on the cpu

Yup, couldn't agree more. Does he keep the pc dust free? As a build up of dust can have a bearing.
