Hi All,
Here goes first post System specs Mobo Asus P5Q pro, CPU core 2 quad Q9550, Ram Corsiar PC800 x 3g, Vid card Saphire hd 4870 1g, 2 x 500g wd hd's 2 x 300g Maxtor hd's, PSU 750w, Standard CPU cooling. Case Thermaltake Xaser 3, running XP pro 32 bit, XP pro 64 bit on another drive. 22 lcd Samsung syncmaster 226bw Built by me.My problem arose when I tried to play tom clancy chaos theory , could play in 800x 600res but try it on native screen res 1680x1050 screen goes black. Have updated drivers for vid card no help, only way to get running again was to reboot system. Have tried Freestone video stability and benchmark tester in stability test no worries but in benchmark mode same deal black screen. While testing temps were 67 c vid card , 47 c Cpu. The system will run all day as long as I don't play games. Any help would be most welcome. |

I use the exact same video card you do, that black massive thing with the heatpipes. I'm running stock at 47 degrees.. 67 sounds like you have an issue with that, are you overclocking it?
