my mate at work asked me to look at his computer, but no nothing comes up on the monitor when powered on ive made sure the power ide cables are in ive made sure the ide cables in correct made sure the HD and optical drives the jumpers are set but still nothing comes up also i know its working because the PC fans come on when you turn it on and also the GFX card works because its fan come on, but i think it could be the HD but surely that wouldnt stop the display coming up

If nothing at all is coming up on the monitor, it could be a Graphics Card or a Monitor problem.

Did you insert standoffs into the case when installing the motherboard?

MAX, you thinking it might be a grounding problem. it might also be a bad stick of ram.
@ Robin, was your friend messing with the cmos (RTC ram). what motherboard is it? try one stick of ram or swap them out. make sure the board has standoffs. you could also try unplugging all the devices that arnt needed and see if that helps. It might not even be the monitor or GPU, but i cant really tell without more details. MORE DETAILS, then others might jump in and help!! |
