Where is the light? On the case, mobo etc?

it is the power light on the front by the on button. and the normal green light is on the motherboard meaning it is getting correct power

The light on the motherboard does not mean that it is receiving correct power, it just means that the standby +5V rail is working, which is probably the least important rail of the lot.

If your pc has an internal speaker, plug it in and see if you get any beeps. If not, buy one and plug it onto the mobo, they only cost a couple of $
