| It depends on a lot of things. You should do some research as this can potentially damage and/or destroy your processor and/or motherboard. There is a very active forum with a hugely helpful community at http://www.overclock.net - I learned everything I know about Overclocking from there. Basically, make sure you have adequate cooling as OC'ing raises the heat put out by your processor quite a bit. Also a processor that is overclockable enough to make it worth while. Dont forget, your BIOS and motherboard must allow you to overclock, some do not - if that is the case, you need an entire new motherboard - http://www.newegg.com is a great place to look for those, read the reviews to get a feel if the board allows overclocking (I really like BioStar boards). Its a fun thing to do if you are into computer, but be careful and start slow! |
