| So i put together a new PC last night, and have checked it over about 15 times to make sure I connected everything correctly, and I do not see any issues. (though my knowledge is limited, and I barely understand enough to be attempting my own build). When I power on, all the fans turn on, including gfx card fan, CPU fan, all case fans, and PSU fan. Also, the optical drive (sata) powers on, all the power leds on the case are on. And obviously, mobo power light turns on as soon as psu is plugged in and switched on. At first, monitor, keyboard and mouse all don't respond, but after 15 seconds or so the case speaker beeps a few times and the mouse and keyboard turn on. But still says no signal on the monitor. I started unplugging things 1 by 1 to see if it was a PSU issue (which i doubted anyway since its a 620W that appears to be working since its powering the mobo and all fans), and even when I got down to the minimum system described in the "is your PC dead?" thread, it responded the same. I don't know how to tell if its passing the POST or not, but it seems that its not, since the monitor doesn't turn on and I can power it off with a single press of the power button rather than holding it. Here are the specs: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe mobo, chipset 590, socket AM2 AMD Athlon 64x2 5600+ windsor 2.8ghz cpu Dual 3d fuzion Nvidia 7600gs 256mb's in SLI (though i only have 1 installed, and didn't plan on installing the other until i had windows running) Enermax liberty 620w psu 2x1gb Corsair 800mhz RAM 2x Seagate 320gb 7200 rpm S-ATA HDD (again, only 1 installed yet) Samsung DVD RW S-ATA drive Thanks for any help. Tis frustrating because I know its probably my lack of knowledge that screwed something up, yet everything looks perfectly fine to my eyes. |

| Hi If I remember correctly the graphics card you have is an AGP card. AGP cards have a nasty habit of slipping out, which could cause the problem you describe. It may be worth making sure it is in properly, and maybe moving it about a little to make sure it is making contact with the slot. I hope this helps. Many Thanks Leo |

| When all is ok there should only be a single beep. You need to note the number and nature of the beeps and refer to the beep code to find out what is wrong.

| Says beep code refers to RAM. So i tried taking out 1 of the sticks, and when i powered it up,it didn't beep at all. The keyboard, monitor and mouse didn't turn on (before, the keyboard and mouse would turn on as soon as it did the beeps, but monitor wouldn't). The other difference though, was I had to hold the power button to turn it back off. (before I only had to tap it once). I've tried every possible RAM stick vs. slot..and each time I do 1 stick it responds like this, and every time I do 2 sticks it responds like before. |
