Default PC Build

Hi I want to build a new PC, I dont play games, really want it for video editing and dvd rendering and burning. I have picked an Antec 900 case coz I like it. Now what to put in it. I'm not saying moneys no object but would like a cpu thats not going to age to quickly Duel Core ? 4 gig of ram, Sata 2 drives, a motherboard that will support 6 to 8 sata 2 drives for storage + CD and DVD Burners. onboard sound and a pci ex graphics card.
can anyone advise on this and maybe put together a list of hardware that I need including a good motherboard,,,, by the way Intel based system :D

Hope someone or two could help.. Regards theoldman

Also, whilst the Antec 900 is an awesome case I think you're going to struggle to fit 8 hdd's and a couple of optical drives in there, never mind the cable clutter, as it's not a very tall or deep case.

Even with its superb modular layout for adding hdd's i reckon you'll only get upto 7 in there with 1 optical drive.

Alex, would you be thinking of P5K and E6850?

Why would you need 8 HDDs?

Wouldn't it make sense to get less of a bigger GB?

Maybe, but if you look at that case stuffed with hdd's and optical drives plus all the associated wire clutter i'd be tempted to look at a lower rated cpu simply to reduce the heat from somwhere. He's not going to need a 3ghz Core2 for the usage quoted anyway.

Hey Oldman.

As there seems to be a bit of confusion (i'm included) in what you have and don't have can i assume I don't need to spec a case or hdd's?

Also, do you require a monitor in the spec?

Anything else?

NO I dont have to have that many drives, its just that i've seen some motherboards that support that many, ive got two large ata I think they are called from my old PC, was thinking I could use them for storage, and sata 2 for system, I have built before but that was an AMD athlon system, This new stuff is hard to get me old head round.
Or is it gonna be as cheap to get ready built system. No I dont need monitor, got 22" tft
