My PC, which was built for me by a friend of a friend (someone I don't feel comfortable asking for tech help right now), is crashing, freezing, and giving me stop errors. The symptoms are entirely inconsistent so I can't narrow down the problem too much.
I ran Memtest86 and some hard drive tests, and the results for both were fine. I know these tests aren't always 100% accurate. Last time this happened, after a long debacle with the guys at the repair shop, they replaced my memory and I went on my way. This fixed the problem for about 6 months. Oh, and I don't have a Windows XP disk to use to reinstall Windows, if it comes to that. I could hunt around for one, if you guys think that's probably the problem. More details needed? Any ideas from this (very limited) info? Any help greatly appreciated. |

Could be something to do with your RAM not getting enough volts.
What RAM is it and what volts do you have it set at?

Thanks for getting back to me.
I'll look into that--not sure off the top of my head. |
