I have a similar problrm to 'gtetgret' my PC freezes every so often, the mouse stops, the keys stop, but then all comes back again after about 30 -45 secs or so!
but... if I have moved the mouse in the 'downtime' when it comes back the mouse pointer will be where it was moved to when it wasn't working.... if you follow!
a collegue said it could be because I have a couple of damaged USB ports on the front??

Yep, reformatted and put XP back on again, thought it might be a dodgy connex on the wireless card, so bougfht a new belkin one, but still the same, also bought a new sound card (just in case that was iffy), and also changed the RAM !
