Guys

I've had a problem with my PC freezing intermittently ever since I bought it. (Windows Vista Premium)

I've changed my antivirus, removed items from my start-up menu and finally restored my factory settings. It's still occurring. Anyone have any ideas?

New or second hand? If second hand try giving it a clean, rid it from any dust with a can of compressed air. You could also try re-applying new thermal paste and adding an extra fan or two. Most freezing issues are heat related. Can you give us a few more details about your computer, maybe a component list? Take a look at this thread http://www.computer-juice.com/forums...-posting-7476/

Thanks for your reply kanoakavirus

The computer has had this problem from new, it's a few months old now.

I'm not sure what you mean by a component list, but here's the basic info:

The PC is a Packard Bell Istart 2311.
The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium
The processor is AMD athlon 64 x2 dual Core Processor 4000+ 2.10 GHz
The memory is 1.00 GB

If new does it have a warranty? I'd use that.

Either that or throw it out of the window. I'm on my second cat this week alone. :)

Freezing on a brand new PC is almost certainly a hardware fault, get them to pay for it not you.

+1 on the RAM, Vista is memory hungry. Maybe get them to add some more while they fix it.
