Just wondering why my pc is shutting off, i was running HD Tune on my hard disk, and suddenly my pc switched off, it has done this a couple of times before but it is very intermittent (once every 2 months). Spec of machine

Check the CPU fan, any dust causes a raise in temps and thus a shutoff.

Forgot to mention my PC is squeaky clean ;) so it is not overheating.

Clean does not mean cool. Bearings can go in fans and motors causing a drop in RPM.
Even a small drop can cause a significant rise in temps, I would monitor those temps with some software to be sure. |

So winpower isnt a very good make then lol
Ive had that psu since 2007 and has been stable, up until about 3 months, maybe theres too much load on it. Ive tried upgrading my psu before, but all i got was aload of beeps and yes i did check all cables were seated correctly. |

Update:
I have noticed my PC is shutting off when i run graphic intensive programs, is this a GFX card fault or a PSU issue? |
