Hi everyone,
today while i was watching a movie my pc suddenly went dead. The monitor switched to "power safe mode", the mouse switched off (!?!) and the sound from the movie stopped. I pressed the reset button on the case but nothing happened. I turned off the pc by holding continuously the on/off switch, turned it on and nothing. I was hoping to be able to boot from a CD (I was thinking the problem might be the HDD) but even the CD rom couldn't open. There was no blinking light on the keyboard indicating some kind of booting process. The only things that were working were the power supply (i could hear the fan working), the fan on the CPU and also a green diod on the motherboard indicating the power is going in.
I asked a friend of mine to check the HDD to see if it is alive.I hope it is. Now I am trying to figure out what the problem is. I think the motherboard has blown though it is not very old - about 4 years.
If someone could help me out with advice or information I will definitely appreciated.
I just talked to a friend of mine. The HDD is fine.
Thanks in advance, folks.
