I am going to try and make this as descriptive as possible since my problem (to me atleast) seems rather obscure and I can't seem to find a way to fix it.
My basic problem is that my PC will not boot properly into Windows XP. This happened after I removed a spare internal hardrive, that was connected to the motherboard and a power supply but was not appearing as a drive. After removing the spare drive, I go to boot back into windows and after about 10 seconds on the Windows XP loading screen the blue screen shows and it restarts the system. After a few hours of trying different methods of plugging my drive back in, changing the BIOS and some other things, I am still left with what I had before. The worst part of this is that I cannot get my PC to boot an install disc for XP, or any other hard drive formatting CD from my cd drives. Everything I have done with the BIOS and IDE cables still leads to the booting of Windows and then the blue screen. I'll attatch some pictures below to show my current system BIOS and boot menu, and some of my IDE cable connections and my motherboard. Sorry for the wall of text, but the pictures should help =P Windows XP Pro SP3 is the currently installed XP. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've heard of a problem with Vista where the OS automatically installs bootmgr on the "top" drive. However, I wouldn't know if XP does the same thing with ntldr etc. If you have a spare tower try hooking up that hard drive and look at its contents.
