Hi
Motherboard= A7N8X 2
CPU= ATHLON XP 3000 (Socket A 462)

Does anyone know why the PC fan will start up for a second when i push the power button but then will turn itself off. When i put in the old fan and heatsink back on the PC functions fine. I have enabled Q fan control in the bios but alot of the other settings stay grayed out like fan rotation speed CPU voltages etc so i cant adjust them.

Any ideas?
Thank you

You probably just put the thermal paste on wrong or something so it's overheating then turning itself off.

Yeah, you can't manually optimize the CPU fan for performance or noise level.

Is the fan actually running then? You sure you haven't mounted it the opposite way?

Hi guys

I just tried again and i did everything the same as before and now it works i am using it as we speak. I got the fan pretty cheap off ebay and compared to jet engine i have been listening to for the last four years. This new fan is pretty silent by comparison rated at 19dB and 2300 rpm i think i got quite a bargain for under a tenner. But now the hard disk sounds loud.

Cheers thanks for all your input
